Dongguan Railway Station (Chinese: 东莞站; Pinyin: Dōngguǎn Zhàn), also known as New Shilong Railway Station (Chinese: 新石龙站; Pinyin: Xīn Shílóng Zhàn) is a railway station on the Guangzhou–Shenzhen Railway, located between Chashan and Shilong, Dongguan, Guangdong in China. The station is designed by He Jingtang, a prominent Chinese architect and professor at the South China University of Technology’s school of architecture.It started to operate on January 8, 2014, which replaced Shilong Railway Station for the passenger train services.This station has Guangzhou-Shenzhen intercity Multiple unit train (CRH) services and long-distance train services. It also connected with Line 2 of the Dongguan Rail Transit.

Two train stations are currently in use in Dongguan:

Dongguan Railway Station stands on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Inter-city High Speed Railway Line, mainly for high speed trains serving Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhangmutou and Changping. It also operates non-bullet trains serving Chongqing, Changsha, Nanning, Hengyang, Luoyang etc.

Dongguan East Railway Station specializes on long-distance rides and only operates non-bullet trains to cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Xiamen, Wuhan, Chengdu etc.

 
1)Dongguan Train Station

Address: East Lingnan Road, Xihu District, Shilong Town (opposite Xihu City Park)

Dongguan Train Station is the busiest station in the city, about 10 miles (16 km) from the city center. In the B1 of the station building, there is direct access to subway line 2, which can take passengers to downtown east and south, as well as the Humen Railway Station.

Apart from subway service, city buses are available and the bus bays are set up on both East and West Squares. The one on East Square is near Shilong Town and thus named Shilongce Bus Stop (Shilong Side Bus Stop) and the one on West Square is called Chashance Bus Stop (Chashan Side Bus Stop) since it is closer to Chashan Town.

Travelers can board buses including No. 47, 805a, 805, 807, 809, 813, 821, 826, 828, 829, 852, X18, Shilong No. 1 and Shilong No. 2 etc at Shilong side bus stop. At Chashan side bus stop, there are buses including Chashan No. 1, 2, 3, 4, Liaobu No. a5 and a9.

Transportation to popular places from this station:

To Naval Battle Museum: Travelers can take subway line 2 to Exhibition Center, get out from exit B2 and then walk about 400 yards to Houjie Exhibition Center bus stop to take the bus No. L1 to the museum. By taxi, it takes around 80 minutes at a cost of around CNY160-180.

To Keyuan Garden: Travelers can take subway Line 2 to Dongcheng, get out from exit B and take bus No. 4 to Keyuan Garden. By a taxi, the ride is about 30 minutes and the fare is about CNY50.

To Yinxian Resort: Travelers can take bus No. 852 to Mulun Village Committee and then change to bus no. Changping A1 to get there. Taking a taxi would cost around CNY80 for a ride about 1 hour.

To Dongguan East Train Station: Travelers can take direct bus No. 852. An hour’s taxi trip would cost around CNY80.

2) Dongguan East Railway Station

Address: at the junction of Changdong Road and Dongzhan Road, Changping Town

This station is some distance, i. e. 24 miles (38 km), from the city center. No subway service, but many buses are available for transfer, including No. 108, 201, 208, 807, 810, 811, 815, 818, 827, 840, 848, 852; Express Bus No. 3, 12; Changping No. 3, 4, 6 and 8 etc.

Transportation to popular places from this station:

To Humen Bridge: Travelers can take Express Bus No. 12 to Beizha Coach Center and then continue with the bus Humen No. 2 to get there. If by taxi, the trip would be around 90 minutes and the fare would be around CNY180.

To Naval Battle Museum: Travelers can take the Express Bus No. 12 to the Humen Center and then continue with the bus Humen No. 16 from the east of International Shopping Centre. It would cost around CNY170-180 by taxi and the trip would be around 1 hour.

To Opium War Museum: After taking the Express Bus No. 12 to Beizha Coach Center, change to bus no. Humen 3A to Linzexu Park and then walk.

To Keyuan Garden: Travelers can take bus No. 208 to Jinmei Gas Station and then change to bus No.I3 to get there. If you take a taxi directly, it would cost around CNY150 and duration is 70 minutes.

To Yinxian Resort: One can take bus Changping No. 4 to get there directly. Taxi can be a good option as well since they are close by, only about a few minutes by taxi for around CNY10.
